In collaboration with numerous internationally renowned art schools, such as the Berlin University of the Arts, we have turned the hotel into one of the largest galleries in the city. In 2005, we invited 20 young artists from Latvia to discover the German capital. These students at the renowned Academy of Arts in Riga roamed Berlin in search of interesting motifs. As a result, highly topical documents of a metropolis in flux emerged: a total of 200 paintings, drawings and photographs represent 200 contemporary views of Berlin. The works have been compiled into the exhibition “200 x Berlin”, which can be seen at Hotel Gates Berlin City West. Further information can be found in the catalogue and price list.

Hotel Gates Berlin, in cooperation with the Academy of Painting in Berlin, presents work by graduates and students of the Masters course at the Academy in its heritage protected breakfast room. In this regularly changing exhibition, each artist presents a cross section from their portfolio. Currently, we are showing pictures by Christoph Primm, who principally works with oil and acrylic paints on paper and has been studying at the Berlin Academy of Painting under Ute Wöllmann since 2006.
